rev my engine quite a bit before my car will move

if I come to a stop sign light etc and try to take off
the car wont move I then have to put it in park and
shift it immediately back into drive and then the car
goes again also sometimes when this happens
and I go to take off it feels like my engine or
something has broke lose and jumps making a big
thud noise and jolting the car.please if anyone has
any kind of idea what it could possibly be I need ur
help I just bought the car for 800 from a so called
friend knowing I am on a fixed income and
disabled need this car to get to my medical
appointments and treatments again on a fixed

fluid level may be very low. though it sounds like transmission internal problem ,stuck servo piston, leaking valve body, or pressure control , try pulling out from stops in another gear like 2nd maybe 1st, then to drive once moving
