I have brown sugar iny gas tank it has already been driven what damage can and/or has happened and what needs to be done to fix it
How do you know there is sugar in your tank?
Are you a victim of a prank? "The common "sugar in the gas tank" prank is to sprinkle a fair amount of sugar on the ground beneath the opening to the fuel tank of your victim's car and leave an empty sugar sack in a conspicious spot near the vehicle. Then sit back and watch your victim go wild trying to figure out how to deal with all that sugar he assumes is now in his gas tank."
If you do have sugar in your tank, it doesn't dissolve in gasoline, so "A little sugar in the tank could be dealt with by no more than having to change the fuel filter a few times, but a heavier sugaring would require the gas tank be removed from the car and dumped out."
Not a prank known fact.. I just Dont know what to do I'm told Dont drive it .... that I can that its horrible to have in car.... not horrible I'm not getting a straight answer
I'm with Tom on this. If you know that brown sugar is in the tank have the tank removed cleaned out completely, replace the fuel pump, fuel filter and have the injectors cleaned. Do not drive the car anymore until you get the sugar removed completely. You could turn it into your insurance company.
Don't drive it! Have it towed to the service facility and explain the situation to them. They'll want to clean the entire fuel system and replace any ruined parts such as the fuel pump, fuel filter, and possibly the fuel injectors. It is possible that, if driven, severe engine damage can result. Valves and piston rings can be ruined. If your car has been vandalized you need to report it to the police and file a claim with your insurance company if you have full coverage. This is no joke! HTH. -Jim
