Can the transmission be adjusted?

Asked by Jun 13, 2015 at 08:45 PM about the 2003 Buick Century Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Shifting jerky at times, slips at other times.  Usually when accelerating from a stop but will do it while cruising at times.

No real adjustments on transmissions, jerky shifting, and slipping are pretty serious. Is your fluid level correct? Red and not brown or black? Those symptoms usually mean the trans is ready for a rebuild. Have it diagnoses by a reputable trans shop in your area. You might want to look at a used trans instead of a rebuild to save some $$$.
