when i turned the key, the lights all came on, and then went out.. and the gauge needles flipped over and then back. Put a small battery chager on , and only a click is heard turning the key

tried starting the car. after having driven the car an hour earlier. when I truned the key,
lighs came on, then went out.. nothing.. no sounds at all.. Tried a small battery charger,
dome lights came on, went out.. and only a clickj was heard turning the key

Sounds like a dead battery or bad battery cable connection. HTH. -Jim
