2002 Buick Century won't start

Asked by Oct 05, 2013 at 08:10 PM about the 2002 Buick Century Custom

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Jump starting the dead battery of my 2002 Buick Century but the car won't start, only making a series of tuk-tuk-tuk sound. Took a video of the noise when turning the key: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6Gs40M_ce0&feature=youtu.be

Could it be the starter? the fuel pump? Or I need a new battery?

Since the battery is already dead, I would purchase a new battery. Sometimes a cell/cells in the battery short and even attempting to jump the start car will be unsuccessful. Post back if you still have an problem.

Got AAA to stop by and do the jump start for me and it does the trick. Apparently they have a more powerful jump starter!

How old is your battery? I would keep an eye on it, voltage wise. Replace before you need to jump it again and or put a trickle charger on it.
