Why will my car not start up? 2003 Chrysler Town and Country 3.8L V6
I have been reading up on many posts about the same thing and have been trying them.
Manually closing the circuit of the Starter relay and turning the key will turn over. Completely baffled as to
why this will not start on its own. Just about everything has been replaced.
I have replaced: Neutral safety switch, ECM, Battery, Starter Relay, Camshaft Position sensor.
Tested Continuity from Pin 85 on Starter relay to wire 31 on the C1 (plug going into PCM, result - GOOD.
Tested Battery and amperage, GOOD. Checked voltages, GOOD.
ECM was returned to place of purchase, they put in their test vehicle, same make and model, started up
with no problems. They checked pins and reprogrammed anyways, I took it back because it was starting
up for 4 days prior. Hooking up a scanner we can see that the ECM is communicating, also no codes come
What are the parameters that the ECM looks for in order to send the signal to close the Starter Relay to
did you have any anwser to this i have the same problem with my 03
It is not clear here what the car is doing. Does it crank and not start or not crank until you jump the solenoid? Crank and no start is usually the crankshaft position sensor located on transmission. No crank is usually a bad starter and solenoid.
Or the transponder key lost it's programming.
im having the same problem with my 2001 Chrysler town and country Lxi 3.8 /6 cyl it wont start up just keeps cranking and cranking no spark to the plugs. i've changed out the spark plugs new plug wires new coil pack new crank sensor new throttle positioning sensor new a computer box for under the steering wheel like the brain a peace of wire harness that goes up under the engine cover to where the fuel injectors are i replaced that. the problem started out at the little wire harness i replaced the old one had melted wire and where bare wires and i think it may had been laying down on the manifold and i think is what melted it and i believe the bare wires may had touched and may had fried something and so that's why i have been changing a few things out as of like the sensors and the computer box. Its not getting spark to the plugs so its like not getting power to the coil pack to give the spark to the plugs any thoughts of why its doing this i was told the crank sensor i changed that and still no spark. plugs are new like i said and gaped at 0.050 as the parts store said to gap them at. Thanks for the help
I dont have an answer. I just changed out plugs, wires coil pack. Still no spark.cranks but no fire. It has been starting rough for about 5 months.
I am having the same problem 2001 Chrysler town and country 3.8 /6 cyl it wont fire up just keeps cranking and cranking. Did anyone resolve their issue on the C/T? I changed out the Craneshaft sensor, a new spark igniter, battery is strong, new alternator...full tank of gas, fuel ejectors are pumping. ???
