my 1999 chrysler town and country mini van lost reverse
just looking for a good starting spot i have checked the fluid it alright i have a code of
po700 and po736
P0736 po736 Reverse Incorrect Ratio P0700 Transmission Control System (Malfunction Indicator Lamp Request)
It's a 99 Chrysler van. Good chance the transmission is shot. VERY VERY common problem. They had that problem from 1983-2000. They changed body styles in 2001 must have finally changed transmissions too. Take it to a REPUTABLE mechanic.
i did not want to hear that but it was what i was thinking waiting for a call back from my mechanic to make sure though
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Good luck!
thank you im hopeing for the better to come out
Hi the P0700 is an internal tcm (trany control module ) code ...//meaning that there is an issue with the TCM and this might be causing the p0736 code as well ...usually when there is an intern issue with the trany there will be more than just one code ...was the trany slipping or making noise in reverse?...// and was it there ok and then gone ...// I would have it checked the dealership has a simulator tool that will hook into the wiring of the trany and can simulate the TCM inputs and outputs to determine if there the reverse clutches are bad .. // I would have it checked out first before condemning it
