car idling in park
My check engine light came on and my car idling in park and anytime i stop -- i got codes po700 and po720 from autozone i took it to aamco and I replaced output speed sensor, gasket, coolant lines and pigtail to ooutput speed sensor and im still having same problem wiht the same codes i am out of $800.00 and still dont knoe ehats wrong with my car
May i ask, how doe,s car run?
p0070 means ambient air temp sensor is stuck p0700 means Transmission Control System (Malfunction Indicator Lamp Request)
it loses accerlation up hills my rpms are running about 3000 at 30 mph and when it stops i got idling up to like 20 mph and a slip
i meant po700 and po720
what is the engine size
2.7 i believe i dnt have my car papers in front on me
It sound,s like crumbob, has it,Your TCM module may be bad,or your tranny fluid is low.
whats a tcm module it that the whole transmission and they refilled the tranny fluid when they replaced the parts
Trainsmission control module, control,s shifting of the trainsmission.
TCM stands for trans control module did they put the right amoun t of fluid in it and the right kind
In the diagram it is the tranny pressure switch.
i asume so they had it and on the recepit it stated replace trans fluid 4 quarts but my car still revs while stopped and when i start it and my check engine light stilll on
is yourTPS good that might do the reving up
Crumbob,is right,The throttle position sensor will make it idle eratic, but if tranny is slipping, check your fluid level, and if fluid is good, check the Trainsmission solenoid.
he was so sure replacing the pigtail would fix problem now he doenst know and needs to run more test apparently
so what am i looking at in cost to repair if it is the tps or tcm
does your speedo work? the p0720 is a code for the output speed sensor..when this goes bad the trany will go into limp in mode and not shift out of second gear that's the reason for the high rpm and low speeds...if the output speed sensor is bad the speedo does not work the tcm (trany control module) calculates the speed and and converts it into MPH....and by the way the pcm and the tcm are in one module ...also if the output speed sensor is bad it is good practice to change the input speed sensor at the same time
thanks now i have codes po732 po731 p1790 what do these mean
i having trouble shifting gears especially firsst adn second gear
Hi code p0731 is a gear ratio error code for first gear and p0732 is a gear ratio error code for second gear.....under drive clutches are used for both first and second ...it appears that you may have over heated the under drive clutch pack while driving it in limp in mode while the out put speed sensor was bad...keep in mind the under drive clutches are applied in both park and neutral to anticipate the driver shifting to drive or reverse to soften the shift
