how do I disconnect the engine light on a 2006 chrysler sebring touring

The CEL? Fix what caused it to light up before being concerned about "disconnecting" it. Check you gas cap. and get your OBD codes scanned, any large parts house will do it free, write down the code(s) and bring them back here, one of us will be happy to help you with a decision on what to do. If you are trying to pass an emissions test and that is why you ask, it won't pass anyway if the CEL is not operable
