From your description I would say you damaged the CV joint/axle assembly that goes into the transaxle. Have it towed to your nearest garage for repair/replacement. You might also have other damage associated with with kissing the curb. Bent rim, ball joint, control arm, etc. You might want to claim it under your insurance of you have collision coverage.
