Pt cruiser overheating

Asked by Dirtyred Jan 26, 2017 at 12:04 AM about the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Not sure other then it running so hot it boiled
all of the water out the raidiator but the
needle never made it to the red line and the
check engine light never came on.. could a
bad thermostate cause it to overheat?
Although it was running fine for atleast 25
mins

It could be a thermostat, but when ever you get a engine hot like that, it has the chance of warping the heads and causing either a bad head gasket, or cracked head. I would suggest having a shop look at it. It may be ok, maybe not.
