I have a 2006 PT,on my way home it just stopped,no warning and all else is fine.
How many miles? Has the timing belt been replaced?
Could be the timing belt as Bob said but it just might be something else. Again, mileage can tell a lot. If the alternator died and you were running on just battery power, The problem is the alternator and the battery. Have it towed to a good mechanic and have him diagnose the problem. You could spend much more doing it yourself.
