Is it safe to drive a 2006 Pacifica if a u joint, transmission mount or enginre mount is bad?

Asked by Sep 01, 2013 at 12:12 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am getting a clunk periodically when I first take off basically in between 1st and 2nd gear. It is a Sunday and I can't get it looked at but need to drive 200 miles and back. Is it safe to drive until I can get back?

Without knowing the full extent of your clunk, I can't tell you yes or no. Are you willing to risk it?

If it is only a mount it should be OK to drive, but drive it like there is a rotten egg under your foot on the accelerator, no fast starts. If it is a C/V joint then No if it shatters then that it where you will sit until a tow truck take you to a shop.
