The Intermediate Shaft Bearing (IMS) transmits power from the crankshaft to the camshafts. If you are experiencing or suspect problems with the IMS, have it inspected by a qualified technician, this condition can cause serious damage to the engine.

The IMS is a serious issue. Not sure about the 911 but I think your car has the M97 engine which requires engine disassembly to service the bearing.
