2007 Chevy Avalanche LT
About 2 weeks ago it started idling rough on and off. It then showed stabilizer track system needing service, powering on and off and then really began running rough. I took it to the dealer and they are telling me that the pistons & rings need to be replaced. Their is oil getting into spark plug 1. They told me once they replace the pistons/rings, I would more than likely see other motor issues pop up. They changed the spark plug on Wed. by Sat. the stabilizer tracking system light came back on and then went off. She is idling rough again. I'm wondering is there something else that could be causing this issue or if the dealer mechanic is right. I have seen numerous suggestions from the Avalanche owners blog but not all the symptoms where the same as mine. I'm leaning towards getting another engine as this truck has been great up till this issue. I have priced out other avalanches as I love these trucks and have not found one that I felt was as comparable to what mine already has within a decent price range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
