My Infiniti G-35 is having overheating problems
My car has recently started pointing to hot
.I just got an oil change and they told me
my coolant was fine .What could be the
problem ? It heats up when I'm going slow
but when I'm on the freeway , it cools
Sounds like your radiator is partially clogged/ blocked. You can do a flow test by taking off your radiator cap when the car is COOL AND OFF then turning your car on to let in warm up. Have something like a Turkey baster to suck up the rising coolant (put the coolant you suck up from the turkey baster in a clean bowl so you can put it back in the system when you're done) after you let the car warm up you should see in the neck of the radiator cap the coolant flowing pretty good. If the coolant current is slow then you probably have clogged/ blocked up area. You can try unclogging it by having your radiator flushed out but you may need a new radiator. If you have good flow/ current in the radiator your water pump might be going.
Make sure your fans are working properly too. If they're not that could definitely be the problem. Checking your radiator flow/coolant/water pump wad a great suggestion from the lady guy too. Good luck.
