The Dealer Wants over $800 for new Struts on my car.. is this reasonable?
Hello, I have a 2007 Volvo S40 with 96,600 miles on the car and I have only had the
dealer work on it. I am having extended warranty repairs done next week, but also they
say the struts need replacing and not covered under the extended warranty.. when the
service manager added up all the charges it was up over $800.00 is this reasonable?
Thanks in advance
I used to have a 2006 Volvo S40 2.4i and I can tell you from personal experience I saved a TON of money by using a trusted non-Volvo service shop for general repairs, oil changes and general upkeep of the car when I owned it. I only went to the Volvo Dealer for repairs after an accident (insurance paid for this) and for a keyfob programming issue. Save your $$ and have someone else install the struts...Shop around and get a price quote from other shops...$800 sounds awful high IMO,
