2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not start

Asked by heels1310 Jan 04, 2019 at 03:15 PM about the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee that will not
start. this only happens occasionally and usually is
after the first time I drive it for the day. meaning
when I get in in the morning I can drive it however
if I park it at a store or something and get back in it
within 15 minutes and try to crank it it says
transmission over temp. If I let it sit for a few hours
it will start up fine. and I have the transmission
over temp issue the lights work radio works the fan
works everything works it just makes a click sound
and that's all and it won't turn over. I have the
starter replaced a few months ago thinking that
may have been it. the first time this happened was
back in August 2018 it did not happen again for
several months then and December 2018 it started
again and it happened about four times in two
weeks. I'm ninety-nine percent sure it is electrical
but I'm just not sure where to start

I’m just now experiencing the same issue with my newly-acquired 2007 grand Cherokee. My mechanic thinks it’s an issue with the computer. Please let me know what you find out.

I’m actually experiencing this right now, I started my car this morning, came to the grocery store now I’m stuck in the parking lot, recently it’s been a everyday thing with my car, I replaced the starter and the battery and it still does it. I have to sit for at least 30-40 mins before it will start, like it’s over heated but it’s not
