I have a 2007 Pontiac granprix and it started ticking at first and the oil light stays on monitor system then now it started knocking noise I haven't had a oil change yet but its due for one

Having same problem in 2004 model. I believe it's the oil pump screen or even worse the oil pump. Both are a bitch to get to. If you let it sit overnight does it tick or knock when you start it in the morning?
