ABS/ Traction Contol Lights coming on randomly...brakes acting funny...steering making noise...HELP!!!
I have a 2007 Grand Prix GT a month ago my ABS and Traction Control lights
started coming on together randomly at lower speeds. They go off when I shut
car off and don't do it again for awhile!!! Then I started hearing a rubbing type
noise at various times when braking so I thought I needed new brakes. Nope
fine!!! Now when I hit the brakes it pulsate at times like I'm on snow or ice!!! Still
randomly ABS/Traction Lights, rubbing noise and sometimes when turning it
will make noise too!!! I've read some posts is this a wheel sensor, hearing,
harness what so I can have my husband fix???
Probably the hub assembly. I think the sensor is built into it. My 2003 Buick Remdevouz. I had to replace all 4 as it was all wheel drive ( not at same time). If the computer cannot determine what speed the wheel is going, compared to the others, it shuts the Antilock Brake System off and the traction control off. Listen to where the sound of the rubbing while driving and check that hub. If the sound changes while turning, it's probably the front. Gm had a recall for the right front only on my Buick. The hubs cost me $100. Each at advance auto. Dealer wanted about $200-$250. Just my experience.
