check gas cap keeps appearing in message center, why?

car was low on fuel twice, now that mess. keeps appearing.

Vapor sensor is indicating that the fuel tank isn't sealed properly. Cap seals do wear out over time. Don't overtighten the cap, when it clicks once it's on as tight as it can get. It may take a while for that message to clear, let the car sit overnight.
