Would a oil die used for spotting leaks cause problems in the engine? I had a "GM dealer put it in my car without asking and now my car has a ruduced engine light with traction?
I had no problems with the engine until A "reputible" dealer put a additive in my
engine to spot oil leaks, he did so without asking. Now I have reduced Engine
light along with service traction light. I will be taking in to have the codes ran
on it. But could the oil leak additive done anything to damage my car? And
cause this problem.
I've never heard of such a reaction to oil dye, it is formulated to blend with the engines oil without reducing any lubracation qualities. So I would have to say no it won't cause your symptoms.
Thank you! This was helpful!!!
