Question type: Car Customization

I have a 07 pontiac g6 gt and I bought a new shift
knob and I tried removing the other one and it
would not come off, I just grabed it watch channel
locks and twisted it and it cam off and I noticed
that the shaft is not a normal one and it is
irregularly shaped and does not have threads. Do I
need to replace the stick thing or is there a know
for that type of shift stick. Thanks

There are shirt knobs that go over your unthreaded shift shaft and hold down with a screw.
