I just had the valve cover gasket and valve cover replaced on my 2007 X5 4.8 and the cost was over $2,000. Does this seem reasonable.

I looked up the parts, and for both left and right sides, the valve cover gaskets and covers themselves I can get them for around $1100 online. Dealerships mark up parts most times. Add in labor then.
