2007 Nissan Murano abs and awd lights

Asked by Aug 14, 2016 at 08:58 PM about the 2007 Nissan Murano S AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a used Murano due to
needing a car ASAP, I love the style and it
drove smooth , I'm not familiar with awd
but was reading the manual and seen that
the awd light should not be on, went to
check it out and noticed the awd lock
button does not do nothing , I am so
worried for I have to travel to take my son
to see specialist throughout the state, a
few days later I seen where my low
pressure for tires is flashing , can someone
please help? Is this minor or is this a big
mistake on this purchase ? If there's
something I could do or you have had the
same experience please reply, Thanks PS
I'm not sure if it's an s or se

Hi Crystal, I am very sorry to hear your troubles with your new vehicle. First things first, do not panic. Run her by an AutoZone and have them pull the codes (to indicate why the lights are on). It could be something as simple as a faulty sensor, or it could be something as serious as the AWD system needing repair (the Murano will still function in 2wd mode even if the AWD system is damaged. Regarding the TPS light. This is a touchy one as on my Mercedes E350 the Dealer (while mounting and balancing new tires) incorrectly placed the run flats in the tires causing the TPS light to pop up. A quick run by the nearest tire shop should get you fixed. If you go to auto zone and have the codes pulled and it comes back something serious, please direct message me and I will be happy to guide you through selecting a reputable repair shop or perhaps some DIY options. Best of luck !

@sixfootsix thank you so much for your response. I feel better knowing it may not be serious, I did take it to the auto zone and was told that they don't have the thing to use for those codes, I will try another auto zone, I plan first thing to go by a tire shop I'm familiar with , it's good to know it will run in 2wd for I thought I was stuck driving in awd , thanks again! I will let you know what I am told , have a great day

Mine is also in awd and the button does nothing. I pulled fuse for the 4wd but the awd light is still on.
