fan doesn't blow until 20 minutes of driving; used to come on immediately.

Asked by Dec 27, 2014 at 03:39 PM about the 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The heater used to come on fast; maybe 5 min. max & would be full force, but now it takes as long as 20 minutes before the fan comes on.  The lights showing the fan full on are always working, but the fan isn't.

Does the temp gauge show the engine is warmed up? Or is it taking forever to warm up. If the engine isn't warming up as fast as it used to the thermostat is stuck open. HTH. -Jim
