whining noise tensioner

Asked by Jul 01, 2014 at 12:08 PM about the 2007 Hyundai Azera Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A whining noise was diagnosed as the tensioner by the dealer. I am not sure this is true. Most pronounced when revving the engine.

It very well could be the tensioner, namely the tensioner pulley bearings are worn. Common issue.
