I have a gap in the pipe between the front and rear a/f and oxygen sensors.. Is this normal?
I also have a check engine light that tells me I need to replace the A/F sensor
but not sure if the gap after the sensor is the problem. Any help would be
Huh? Your pic seems to show the gap between the OUTER HEAT SHIELDS...and not the actual exhaust sections. If the former, these are simply mandated by the Feds to prevent grass fires. Remove them after they loosen sufficiently to rattle enough to drive you nuts. Pretty normal for a 9-10yr old A/F to fail. Get a REAL one with the proper connector rather than a DIY-wired generic, as it might not eliminate the CEL. Rear O2s are less fussy.
