Hello, I have a 2006 Subaru Forester X 2.5L base model and the engine is shot in the vehicle. I have to buy an engine for it but do not know what engines would be a direct swap to fit in the vehicle.

I have a 2.5L Subaru Forester X base model and the engine went bad and im shopping for
a used one nearby. I just do not know what subaru models and year would be considered
a direct swap for this car.

Find the engine code on the block, make sure which ever engine you look at getting has the same code stamped on it. It's going to be a 2.5L with DOHC, that should give you almost all the info you need.
