My front brake pad is worn all the way on the bottom and at the top there is over half of the pad left. What causes this?

The pads aren't able to move properly in the calipers. Your caliper slider pins aren't lubed or the shims are rusted. Clean and lube the hardware and contact points properly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPIMj962YZ0
