will different tires ruin my transfer case

the rear end made alot of noise before it went out whiole twisting the driveshaft

What tires did you have on the truck? They should have been all the same size and tread depth.

Yes running mismatched tires can and has ruined transfer cases, spider gears and if your rig has it limited slip clutches. All 4 tires need to be the same size and manufactures.
