bypass bad a/c compressor

how do I bypass the AC compressor/ AC clutch with a shorter serpentine belt
on a 2006 Mercury Mariner Premier v6 3.0L? how long should the new belt
be?

Your local auto parts store can sell you a kit to do this. It comes with a pulley that is installed in place of the AC compressor. Hope that helps! Jim

Correct there is a pulley you can purchase. You have to remove the Failed AC compressor, and you can use the original size belt.
