Misfire on #2

Asked by ranchero417 Oct 12, 2010 at 11:35 AM about the 1999 Saturn S-Series 2 Dr SC1 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just rebuilt and installed engine, 1.9 DOHC.  Started and seem fine but keep getting a 302code.-- Misfire cyl, # 2. New plugs and wires. I pulled and rechecked gap and still get code.  Going to try new plug, have had bad new ones before,
What else should I look for?
What are the best plugs to use??
Thanks all

Well when I said keep getting a 302 code I assumed a reader would know that I had cleared the code--my bad. Regardless I found it and need to kicked myself. I have worked in the equipment maintenave area for years and have repaired and rebuild countless cars as well. I forgot the basic troubleshooting law---"Look for the similest thing", Like if the light is not on in a room check the switch before you replace the light run to breaker box. In my case the injector harness wire for # 2 was not fully seated. Thanks
