catalitic converter

Asked by camden Apr 27, 2010 at 01:13 PM about the 1998 Saturn S-Series 4 Dr SW2 Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My saturn  has 200,000 miles on it. The mechanic said he needed to install a new catalitic converter. He said saturn does not make them so he would have to substitute. How much should one of these cost? Thanks, kathy

You can expect to pay around $200 to $250 for an oem style catalytic converter from somewhere like Autozone. Universal ones are cheaper but require modifications to make them work.
