is it normal for 98 saturn coupe to turn 2700 rpm @65 mph

About that; my SL2 turns around 2600 at 65. I'm assuming your car is a DOHC the SOHC cars turn slightly slower at 65 mph, around 2300 rpm; that's just because of the gearing in the transaxles though
