97 Saturn

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 97 needs a head gasket, I know
nothing about cars etc, how expensive is
this task?

1 Answer

2,960

That will depend on several things. If the heads are not warped much and can be machined, the entire repair might be less than $400, depending on the cost of living in your area. If the heads are warped enough that one will require replacing, it could cost you around $700. If both heads need to be replaced, the repair will be more than that Saturn is worth. And I'm NOT exaggerating.
