1997 saturn sc1

Asked by Matt51888 Jul 18, 2016 at 09:44 PM about the 1997 Saturn S-Series 2 Dr SC1 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While driving my 97 saturn sc1 5speed I was
making a u turn, I was going approximately
30 mph when I downshifted into 2nd gear.
As I released the cluth I heard a loud pop or
thud its it's hard to describe, but it was very
violent...after the thud I started losing
transmission fluid it left a trail about a mile
to my driveway. I let it sit in the driveway
where it leaked massively. Anybody know
what happened???

Sorry bro it sounds like you blew your transmission you can get a used one from the junkyard but you might want to get it looked at maybe it's not as bad as it sounds?

It was as bad as it sounds. I went ahead and pulled the transmission and sure enough I see a big ass hole in the bell house
