Egr replacement

Asked by Nov 21, 2016 at 08:16 PM about the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just replaced the egr in an 05 t&c. Was getting
a 404 code. Noticed the egr tube was just
about plugged. Cleaned it out. Might have been
the whole problem to begin with.

Clear the code and see if it comes back up.

Probably was but do as Full of Regrets says to make sure. When the computer commands the EGR valve open it looks for a chance in the signal from the upstream oxygen sensor. If there's no change the computer knows something is wrong and sets the trouble code as well as turning on the check engine light. HTH. -Jim
