I could not find that readout on any of my books, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere, it is possible that there is a problem with the fuel flow sensor or even the fuel mileage computer. Is there also a check engine light on?

It still possible for a code to exist that might help, from what I can gather the systems do share sensors, it might be a good idea to see if there are any codes at all, most parts stores can do this for free, if there are any, write them down and repost them back here and someone will jump in and go from there. If there are none then the fuel computer and flow system will have to be professionally checked over. Isn't it crazy that for years we did our own mileage checks and didn't think a thing about, now the car does it and when it goes haywire we feel kinda wierd, like it is letting us down. HTH
