What is the serpentine belt and fan module on the Chrysler PT cruiser

Just was advised by the dealer that my fan module and serpentine belt needed to be replaced.

If you never have replaced the serpentine belt by now you are very lucky, most of them only make it at the most 4 years. As far as the fan module there must be a radiator fan circuit failure, if that is the case then the module is a valid replacement but the fan motor may have caused the failure so be aware of that.
