Disable Horn When Locking Doors - 2007 PT Cruiser

Asked by Cayenne_3933 Jan 23, 2017 at 10:10 PM about the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Wagon FWD

Question type: General

I have a 2007 PT Cruiser. When I lock my car with the keyless entry fob, the
horn beeps. I don't want it to do this anymore. How can I disable this? The
owner's manual for the car says that the PT Cruisers equipped with EVIC
allow you to easily turn this feature off and on, but my car does not have
EVIC.

If you don't have the menu that you can pull up on the dash screen then it is programmed that way. You might contact the dealer and see if they would be willing to reprogram the BCM not to activate the horn on the lock signal, some dealer will but most won't, they just say that is the way it is. If they will do a reprogram it can run at least a hundred bucks.
