I have a 95 chevy cavalier that cuts out sometimes

Asked by Feb 26, 2014 at 07:37 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

has had new plugs and wires put in also new fuel pump and filter. Doesnt cut out all the
time. Been told could be coil or crankshaft position sensor help

1 Answer

Sounds like a crankshaft position sensor. Computer loses its rotational signal from this sensor it thinks the engine is off and shuts off fuel and spark. Very common on GM to fail when hot. Good Luck
