Will a crank shaft sensor cause fuel pump not to work

Asked by Jul 05, 2019 at 03:19 AM about the 2006 Kia Optima EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1 Answer

No. Crank shaft position sensors primarily generate signal for ignition spark. If your fuel pump doesn't run, it could be the fuel pump fuse, relay, inertia switch (after a collision), or the pump itself. Also check for clogged fuel filter, loose/corroded connectors.
