I have a 2006 Kia Optima and the brake lights will not turn off. To keep my battery from being drained I have disconnected the brake lights from inside the trunk. How can I fix this?

Your brake light activation switch next to brake pedal is probably stuck. Follow the brake pedal arm up to where there might be a tab and presses against a switch. You will see a switch with some wires and try to feel if the button is depressed.
