throttle sticks in the idle position
2001=NO cable, but a paddle with a potentiometer in it. the computer says "it's cold" lets Idle at say 1200 RPM until operating temperature is reached...then it says aaah~ 185 degrees, time to relax...have a beer....achem no, drop down to say 850 RPM~ that is what is supposed to happen...perhaps the temp sensor is Ka-flooey~?
perhaps the "ambient temperature" sensor is unplugged or defective? http://www.partsgeek.com/4tvtt3r-chevrolet-silverado- 1500-ambient-temp-sensor.html? utm_source=shopzilla&utm_medium=pf&utm_content=wcs&utm_ campaign=PartsGeek+ShopZilla&fp=pp&utm_term=Chevrolet+A mbient+Temp+Sensor
