1996 chevy cavalier overheating

Asked by Feb 03, 2017 at 04:30 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1996 chevy cavalier 2.2l its overheating
and the heater works occasionally these problems
started after i replaced the oxygen sensor it my
attemts to fix the over heating I've replaced
thermostat and bled air from system i also had oil
changed and it showed no signs of coolant in it so
i doubt its headgasket. The fan works and radiator
was just replaced a year ago but the bottom hose
on radiator is cold when it overheats top hose is
hot and when car overheats there is no steam
coming from it but the coolant bubbles out of
reservoir and isn't hot.

remove the oil filler cap and see if it's got a milky white emulsion on the under side

It doesn't have anything under the oil cap
