Cuts out when going up hills or under pressure

Asked by JagLover__2001 Apr 26, 2012 at 10:48 AM about the 2001 Jaguar S-TYPE 3.0L V6 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Since we bought this gorgeous sea frost Jag, 2001, S type 3.0, we have experienced it cutting out when going up hills.  As soon as you give it more gas it takes hold and pulls through.  However, it is getting worse and is doing this while idleing at the stop sign.  Have taken it to mechanics and had a tune up.
Still doing it.  Does anyone know what is going on?   Electrical???  We thought it might be the transmission but had it checked and doesn't seem to be anything wrong there.  We love this car.

Jags were known for cutting out after a while of use. I've had people talk to me about it and it could be electrical, your fuel pump could be going out or losing pressure, or you might have clogged injectors. I don't know if it is of help. But I hope you can figure it out. Good luck.
