Low oil light
I have a 96 Z28/SS , owned for 3 months now. The low oil light has come on
when car is started and stays on for a while, seems to go out after car is
warmed up. I've checked oil level and it is always in the full range. Any ideas ?
If your not hearing any engine noise is is most likely the oil pressure sender for the light, however if your really concerned put a manual oil pressure gauge on it, you can make it temporary or run it inside and mount it permanently. Then you will know the engines oil pressure at all times instead of relaying on a light.
My oil pressure is good according the the gauge,no noises from the engine. I'll try replacing the sending unit. Thanks for the info..
your guage is not a tester, it just informs you oil is not pumping, a tester tests pressure.
You have an oil level sensor that screws into the side of the oil pan. Sounds like it's bad. HTH. -Jim
check the oil pressure sender unit its under the hood to the left of the master cylinder behind the engine
