is the starter on a 1996 camero 5-speed manual trans and a 3.8 liter 6 cylinder located on the driver's side or the passanger's side?
The car starts correctly only some of the time. Sometimes, upon turning the key with the clutch depressed, I only get a click from the seloniod. At first I thought it was a problem with the neutral safety switch, but since I'm getting power to the starter, I've ruled this possibility out. I've got to check the connections on the starter, but don't have the ability to get the car onto a lift. Just need to know which side of the vehicle the starter is on so I can figure out a way to access it.
I'ts on the passanger side attached to the bell housing. And i'ts kind of hard to get to without lifting the car.I have at times however on models with the 5.0lit engine been able to reach th starter from reaching under the hood down past the exhause manifold. But you really can't tell very much. You can only pretty much feel your way around. Please be sure that the car in cool if you try this.Best way is from under the car.
