I have a "clunk" noise coming from rear at slow speeds

Asked by Jun 30, 2014 at 12:57 PM about the 2007 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4X4

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Thought it was the spare tire not seated properly.  Have re-torqued the rear shocks/struts.   I only hear it at low speeds -- especially if I have been running at highway speed for long period and then get off interstate.   It is a loud clunk. Does that sound like rear sway bar and sway bar bushings?

Check universal joint,s in drive shaft, and all so check for bad brakes, and maybe check strut or bad tire.

Pull the driveshaft away from the rearend and check the play in the yoke on the hogshead.....just thinking because that's what happened with my suburban in my photo shown ....i.e.it should not wiggle around a lot, if so take it to a mechanic to repair
